The quick-setting of PROMPT natural cement makes it a natural choice for tasks that can be performed with conventional cement. Yet, the speed of PROMPT natural cement mortar accelerates and simplifies such tasks, ensuring a swift return to service for the structure.
Technique
Before preparing the PROMPT natural cement mortar, ensure the substrate is properly prepared. Moisturize the supports and stones, without leaving water on the surface.
Then, prepare the mortar. Mix the PROMPT natural cement, sand, and TEMPO setting retarder. Homogenize the mixture. Add water to achieve a consistent mixture of a plastic consistency if the stone's absorption is high; firm if it's low; and liquid for grouting.
For placement, prepare bedding mortar pads using PROMPT natural cement mortar and level them according to the layout. Once the bedding mortar pads start to set, prepare more mortar. Adjust the mortar volume based on the stone dimensions and installation time. Spread the PROMPT natural cement mortar slightly thicker than the bedding pads. Then, manually or with equipment, position the stones and immediately adjust their alignment and plumb. Proceed to create the vertical joint by pushing or grouting. Remove excess mortar and promptly clean the stone. The next row can be laid using the same method within an hour after the initial set, using wooden shims to ensure even horizontal and vertical joints.
